Architecture first. Implementation matters.

Why architecture, implementation quality, AI supervision and business trade-offs belong in the same engineering conversation.

Architecture first. Implementation matters.

๐ŸŒ That's the line at the center of my new personal website.

I've spent 12+ years working across product, platform and delivery. Over that time, I've found that the most interesting problems rarely belonged to one discipline alone.

๐Ÿ’ผ Architecture affects business strategy. Implementation quality affects trust. AI is changing the way we work, but not the need for judgement.

I wanted one place to explore these connections.

The site is my home for essays and field notes on engineering, developer experience and teams; thoughts on architecture, AI and business trade-offs; selected independent work; and a reading list I've deliberately curated.

The reading gives me ideas. The projects are where I test them. The writing is where I work out what holds up.

โ“ A few questions I will keep returning to:

  • What are we actually optimizing for?
  • How much supervision does a system need?
  • Which decisions are cheap to change, and which ones compound?
  • How do teams move faster without handing over judgement?
