Three takeaways from TypeScript AI Demo Day

Notes from TypeScript AI Demo Day on the systems surrounding models, agent security and agents as a new product interface.

Tuned in online to the TypeScript AI Demo Day in SF yesterday - one of the best tech events I've come across in a while. ๐ŸŽ‰

Three talks that stuck with me:

1. Neel Rao (OpenAI) - Harness Engineering ๐Ÿ”ง

The model is no longer the differentiator. What you build around it is. Neel's framing of harness engineering - the tools, constraints, feedback loops, and context that make agents actually work in production - is the most useful mental model I've picked up this year.

2. Greg Pstrucha (Sentry) - Skills & Security ๐Ÿ”’

Sentry is thinking seriously about what it means to give agents skills and what the security surface looks like when you do. Practical, grounded, and something most teams aren't thinking about yet.

3. Michael Grinich (WorkOS) - The Death of UI ๐Ÿ’€

If agents are the new interface, what happens to the UI layer? Michael made a compelling case for why the assumptions we've built products on are shifting fast. Thought-provoking stuff.

Huge credit to the Mastra team for putting this together - and congrats on the $22M Series A announced the same day! ๐Ÿš€

Thanks Fatima Araujo, PhD for letting me know about this event!
